Orbit can handle all your everyday downloads, but the development really focuses on media downloading from so-called "Web 2.0" or "social" sites like Pandora, YouTube, MySpace, Imeem, etc.
For the record, this puts Orbit in a very grey area of legitimacy. In the FAQ on their website, they give advice on how to download streaming music and video from these "social" sites - most of whom definitely wouldn't want you doing so. Be that as it may, Orbit's features all come together in one powerful package.
Orbit integrates nicely in various browsers, and recently (thankfully) expanded its Firefox support.
